DiRPG | Numenor by Opium5

Numenor dashed over the open plains, trying to get more space between himself and the wild dog pack. He ignored the burning pain in his legs as best he could. It angered him that those filthy mutts managed to hit enough attacks to wound him.
"Next time I'm going to kill all of them!", he told himself as he slowed down on top of a small hill.
The cold wind carried several foreign scents towards him and it took him a short while to sort through them.
"Hay, straw, mares... and many stallions. Also dogs...?! That can't be just another herd..."
Numenor didn't even bother to evaluate is options. Curiosity had already taken over him and he jumped into a swinging trot and headed for the origin of all those scents.
Only a few minutes later the blurred shapes of buildings appeared in the distance. The thought of humans made him slow down once more, but he couldn't smell any of those two-legged creatures. Apart from that he saw other horses walking around freely, entering and leaving the buildings and none of them seemed troubled or in panic.
"What the hell?" He had never seen anything like this before and he wouldn't be the one to turn back, that was for sure.
As he approached the biggest building, which's gates were wide open, he passed a few paddocks. Some of them were empty, but others were still occupied by horses.
"Hey.", Numenor tried to draw attention to himself while walking up to one of the horses. It was a Silver Soothy Bay Dun, obviously not a mare, but the scent didn't match a stallion either. The Bay Dun was clearly male, but something was off. Numenor didn't feel the urge to fight him. He couldn't sense any vibes of rivalry and that fact calmed him.
"Hey.", the Bay Dun replied with a bored tone.
"What's going on here? Why are there so many wild horses? And where are the humans?", Numenor asked, thought he didn't like being the one relying on other's information in order to be able to understand the situation. Not that he had a choice.
"Humans are gone. They left us here. Probably to freeze or starve to death."
"Lovely creatures.", Numenor mumbled sarcastically and earned a slight nod in return.
"Now more and more wild stallions show up and try to claim the mares and everything else that could be of use for them.", the Bay Dun continued with a shrug. "I guess you're also looking for one or two pretty ladies?"
"No.", Numenor snorted and rolled his eyes. "I've other things to take care of. But why are you still here? Found no one to help you out?"
The Bay Dun blinked a few times while an "are you fucking serious"-like expression spread over his face. "Believe me, if I didn't want to be here, I wouldn't."
"So then... you're waiting here, because...?", Numenor asked once more. As blunt as the Bay Dun was, his mere existence didn't piss him off and that was a very rare occurrence.
"To make sure everyone else gets out of here and will be safe. The others here have been like my family. I just want to make sure no one has to die here, before I leave."
"Uhu..." Numenor didn't know what to reply. He couldn't relate to this amount of unselfishness. "And let me guess... you're trying to claim a mare as well while waiting and 'making sure everyone is save'?"
"No. I'm not interested in mares."
"Why?"
"Humans made sure of it." The tone in the Bay Dun's voice indicated that he wouldn't share any more information about this topic and Numenor was no one to demand more details.
"So... if you're not after the mares... what's your plan once you left this place?", Numenor asked.
The Bay Dun was silent for a few seconds befor replying, "I don't know... I'll probably just look for somewhere else to live. I'll fight through, somehow."
"I understand...", Numenor mumbled. He hadn't planned anything like that, but the Bay Dun seemed strong and without any ambitions for self-fulfillment. With other words: quite useful. "What about joining me? We can wait until everyone here is safe. After that you come with me and I'll give you some actual reasons to fight an kick some asses. What to you say?"
The Bay Dun didn't seem very surprised. If he was, he hid it well. "You ain't talking about your ass, eh?"

Numenor geht's wieder besser :la: no more blood! Bleiben die Narben (muss voll zach sein, immer an solche Sachen zu denken, die sich am Design im Laufe des RPGs verändert haben...)? Ihr Gespräch is friedlich aber das Piccu sieht voll wie ein Stand-Off aus xD
